Beavers We need you most Team Leader

Beaver Team Leader

A hall full of excited 6–8 year olds and you helping lead the adventure — join our thriving Beaver Colony here in Baillieston.

One weekly session plus a little planning, term-time

Our Beaver Colony is busy, full of energy and going strong — and we’re looking for someone to help lead it.

Unlike a brand-new section, you’d be joining an established, thriving group of 6–8 year olds with a settled routine, a friendly team around you and plenty of support. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end: you’ll learn the ropes alongside experienced volunteers and grow into it at your own pace.

What you’d be doing

  • Helping plan and run the weekly Beaver session — games, crafts, simple challenges and the occasional outdoor adventure
  • Working as part of a small team of leaders and helpers, never on your own
  • Giving 6–8 year olds a brilliant, safe and fun introduction to Scouting

Who it’s for

You don’t need any Scouting experience — just enthusiasm, a bit of energy and a love of working with young children. If you can bring fun and a bit of structure to a room full of excited Beavers, you’re exactly who we’re after.

We meet at St Andrew’s Church hall on Bredisholm Road, right here in Baillieston, in Glasgow’s East End. It’s a church hall, but Scouts is open to everyone — all faiths and none. We’re an inclusive group, not a religious one.

We’ll give you full training (including safeguarding and first aid), ongoing support from the wider leadership team, and you’ll never be doing it alone. All training is free, and your PVG/Disclosure check is covered by us.
