Uniform Guide
Each section has its own uniform, worn with our scarlet group necker. Here's what to get for each section and where to buy it. New starters don't need a full uniform on day one — a necker and a smile are plenty to begin with.
Getting your uniform
You don’t need to buy everything new, and nobody needs a full uniform on their first night. Here’s where to get it when you’re ready.

Our local shop — handy if you’d rather check sizes in person.
Children grow fast, so it’s well worth looking second-hand first. Have a look on local selling sites like Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree, and ask in our group chats — families are forever passing on outgrown jumpers, shirts and neckers.
6–8 years
Beavers uniform
Beavers wear a turquoise sweatshirt with our scarlet group necker. There’s no rush to get everything at once — a necker and a smile are plenty for a first night.

Trousers & footwear
Navy or black trousers or shorts and comfy shoes are fine — no special kit needed. We’re outside a lot, so something they can get mucky in is ideal.

8–10½ years
Cubs uniform
Cubs wear a green sweatshirt with our scarlet group necker. As with every section, there’s no need for a full uniform straight away.

10½–14 years
Scouts uniform
Scouts wear a teal-green activity shirt with our scarlet group necker. It’s built for getting stuck in — exactly what the Troop spends most of its time doing.

14–18 years
Explorers uniform
Explorers wear a beige/stone shirt with our scarlet group necker. It’s smart but practical — ready for everything from a unit night to a weekend expedition.
